What’s it about?
The Box is Alive is a physics-based puzzle platformer where you take a box on a journey to deliver itself!
Inspired by games like I Am Bread and Octodad: Dadliest Catch, our game features a complex movement system that challenges players to think outside the box. Master the controls as you explore the environment, rolling past obstacles and hazards as you escape the factory that made you.
Though beneath the challenging levels and silly premise lies a mystery. What happened to the humans who made you? Why did their facility suddenly shut down? And why does it feel like someone's watching you…
What’s the story?
When a shipping facility suddenly goes dark, their abandoned boxes start to come alive. Confused by their consciousness, and with no humans to control them, the warehouse starts to go haywire!
You play as one of these newly-sentient boxes and, like everyone else, you feel completely lost.
Why are you alive? And what are you still doing here?
But despite all the chaos and confusion, you do know one thing…
You are a box. And you need to be delivered.
With your recipient waiting, you know you can't stay. You're determined to flee the factory and reach that doorstep in one piece!
How do you play?
The core gameplay revolves around our custom physics-based controls. They're easy to pick up but hard to master, so you'll need to think outside the box if you want to avoid the shredder!
You'll explore the game's environment by rolling, tilting, and jumping your way to the end of the stage. These moves will help you overcome obstacles, defeat enemies, and evade certain death.
Sounds simple enough. But there’s more to the factory than meets the eye!
Secret stages and puzzles are tucked away within levels, visible to only the most perceptive and curious boxes. And the mystery behind the factory’s sudden termination may be hidden in plain sight!
